Emily + Tommy
Alright guys, remember in my last blog post I talked about breaking my knee, yeah I broke my knee just days before this wedding as well. When I say I was in full panic mode, that is an understatement. I had a stabilizer on, so I could not bend my knee, was in so much pain & had to drive almost two hours to & from with this stabilizer on. Let me tell you it was a painful experience, but oh my gosh one that was it worth it. Thank God for good friends who come be your assistant because you are only 50% of a person who can’t bend down & fix a train or hang a dress for detail photos. I was so thankful for Kate, my goodness, she made capturing this wedding possible for me. I could never thank her enough, so hey Kate, thank you again love!! So I think we can cross capturing a wedding on a broken knee officially off of the bucket list.
These two high school sweethearts had an intimate ceremony this past summer, on the 4th of July, in Lansing, MI. Their original plans were affected by COVID but nonetheless they still did the dang thing with their close family & friends & it was absolutely beautiful. They had a Catholic ceremony in downtown Lansing by where they went to college at Michigan State. Then we went to what was supposed to have been their reception venue, Michigan Wildlife Conservancy, & captured their bridal party photos along with their Mr + Mrs Photo following the ceremony. If you have never been totally go check it out, it is a lush green, wooded area with a water view & it just incredible.
A little bit about these two, Tommy & Emily are insanely athletic & outdoorsy. Like the kind of outdoorsy where right after their wedding they backpacked all the way from MI through to the PNW, until they reached the Washington coast. Now after completing that, they are currently in Europe hiking & exploring. They are complete outdoor goals and I completely admire them for all they do. Their relationship has always been natural & easy, I feel like that is so easy to see in these. The first time I spoke to them, I could tell that these two goofy lovebirds are absolutely head over heels in love with each other, they both lost it when walking down the aisle, grab the tissues & just the way they look at each other. They just compliment each other so well & just love being goofy together, it is perfect. As you can probably guess this made their big day so much fun & they had such a fun bridal party as well which makes your day!!

Emily + Tommy never forget how much you love those hugs after a long day away from each other, how easy your love has been & how important that quality time together is to you both. Emily never forget how you love Tommy’s butt, big smile, how perfectly he can cook meat & just how he can recenter you in a crazy time. Tommy never forget how much you love those sparkly eyes, long legs, those silly adventures she takes you on & those crazy giraffe walks. Never stop traveling & exploring together. You two are the cutest & I am so happy to have you be apart of the Ali K Photo Fam.
